"Boot Scraper" - less dirt inside RV

Here is my attempt at providing a solution to less tracking of dirt and grit (from shoes) inside our RV. I purchased a boot scraper from a big box shoe retail store and mounted it to a short piece of 1 x 4 pine board. I cut the end of the board on a 45 degree angle and added 2 hanger bolts (metal studs) to the end of the board. Next, I attached the boot scraper to the board. I then drilled two holes in the RV steps to for the metal studs to pass through. I hold the "boot scraper" in place with wing nuts and flat washers. I can quickly install / remove this device in a matter of seconds.

We added step rugs to ours (purchased at Camping world). So as you climb the 3 carpeted steps into RV your shoes are automatically cleaned. Works great for us.

Good job tying it down - that is probably why our scraper didn't help - it was hard to hold still AND scrape without falling ova !

So we found that 3 things did a better job - for us:
1) a small rug on the ground by the steps (better if we put the 9'x12' one out, but don't usually )
2) the step rug on the first step only since it messes with the step sensor on the 2nd step,
3) a 2x3 rug at the top of the stairs inside to catch the last of it

Good idea. We just take our shoes off.
