This modification was necessitated by the fact the cover's to the water heater and the water pump compartments were getting kind of ratty looking.

<DIV align=center>The door cover on the water heater compartment had to be mounted sideways to fit to opening so the wood grain is horizontal. Both doors are hinged at the sides.

<DIV align=center>The door on the water pump compartment is hinged at the side and swings to the left. I mounted the handle horizontally so that it would look symetrical.

Nicely done George!

Did you make the doors or buy them?

I bought the doors from Crossroads for about $70 for the pair. The colour match is bit off but it's not that bad. The large door had to be mounted horizontal so the wood graindoesn't match the otherdoors. These were standard cabinetdoors madeby Crossroads soI had to take what they had. Edited by: Hamops

Looks good George. I did that to the open shelves under the electric control cabinet. Now I think I will get a couple more doors and do this mod too.

I think that I recall yours or a similar mod with pictures. Might be a good idea to give us some pictures of the mod.

I haven't figured out how to get my sig pic up yet on the new forum. But I haven't really tried yet as I have crappy Wi Fi service in our camp hereat Havasu. Can only get on line about 1 or 2 times per week with top speed of about 1mbps.

Your right there was a pic of this mod up on the old forum. Wasn't mine but basically the same. I forget the poster.

I'll work on trying to get pics.

Great job! I glued the 3/16" water pump compartment to a 1/2" piece of plywood and then added hinges and a handle. Stays the same color that way. My water heater door was a regular door but they just screwed it on, so every time I needed to get in I had to remove the screws. Now it has hinges and a snap closure. Again great job

Isn't it funny how a few simple mods make your camper look that much more expensive. I did this mod plus did all my drawer fronts and did stairs to the upper front. I also added 2 drawers one under the stove for cookie sheats and pizza stones. and one to the top panel to the right of the sink.

George loved the idea when we get better at cabinets we will try to make a raised panel for now we just used the old panel and made a frame also realized how important pictures are we couldn't figure out why you mounted the handle up high and we went out and looked at the the rest of the cabinets and it sunk in immediately thanks here's what it looks like

thanks,
Rick and Deanna
