The wife is finding the cook top in our Slingshot 23ck a bit small (with only two burners - one small, one larger) and the controls are quite close to the burners, so they get a bit hot.

Does anyone have any experience or comments on changing out a cook top for something a bit larger. I presume the gas would have similar connectors and the only two considerations I can think of are - enlarging the opening in the counter and perhaps ensuring the walls (back of counter and fridge) are protected from heat if the burners are any closer.

Any thoughts are appreciated.
