Not to many mods happening so I'll tell about one I did last year. I junked the elec brakes on my Cruiser and installed 12 in hydraulic disc brakes. Best thing I ever did. It cost a little over $1000 but the benefit outweighs the cost.I mounted the actuator in the battery compartment where all the wires arefor easy access.Going down a long 7 percent grade I have complete control.

I bought the parts mostly online on the East coast.. Some here in Calif. If I ever sell my Cruiser that will be the first mod I do.PM mewith your e-mail address if you want pictures.

happy trailering

I followed millertime's lead and did the same mod. This mod paid for itself a couple of weeks later when, in drizzly weather, some idiot swerved in front of me and stepped on the brakes. Visions of my TTs back bumper kissing my TVs front bumper swirled thru my head, instead, I made a nice, smooth, straight stop. Highly recommend this mod.

Im new to the forum but this modification sounds like a very good idea. You mentioned that the cost was about $1000. I contacted a dealer for Kodiak brakes and was given a price of $1950 plus tax and shipping for both axles. Please tell me where you were able to get the kit for $1000. I sure would like to change over and save $1000 in the process.

Dege257, neither one of the two users in this thread have been on the forum since 2011. I see Squaredancer has an email address in his profile so you may want to email him and see if he responds.

Try here, just over $1600

http://www.southwestwheel.com/store/...timate212.aspx

Looking around on the website you can buy a 5200lb axle with the Kodiak disc brakes for $429 each.
