Electrical Outlet in Outdoor Kitchen

Hi. We have a zinger 298BH. There is no light in the outdoor kitchen and I’d like to add one. There is one electrical outlet in the kitchen, for the mini fridge. Only problem is they only put one “plug” for the outlet and I was wondering if it would hurt anything if we changed that to a 2 plug outlet?

We don’t use the outside fridge much, in case having the fridge and a light using the same circuit may cause a problem. I guess we could just unplug the fridge but ideally I’d like to have the extra plug option. Only one seems like a waste of wiring. Ha

Also wondering if swapping a USB only outlet (2 usb slots) to an outlet with one USB and one 120v outlet or two 120 outlets with the double USB in the middle like they have for homes?

We love that our trailer has usb outlets but some places we’d like an electric plug option as well.

TIA

Julie

Have you thought about plugging a power strip into the outlet, that would give you more options? Avoid overloading the circuit.

See, saying it out loud was helpful! Russ I did not think about that. Excellent idea for the outside issue.
Thank you!!

Any ideas on the USB outlet?

I don't see any reason why you couldn't change the usb outlet as long as it is fed with a 120v line. Check that they used a standard outlet box.

Usually, but not always, USB only outlets are powered by 12 volts. Be careful and test the wire voltage with a meter.

Thank you Mark and Russ. We’ll check the voltage on the USB outlet. The one I want to change is on the slide out so likely only 12v.
