Factory television mount

I have a 2010 Zinger ZT19RD trailer. I find that with a 19" flat screen tv mounted on the factory supplied mount, if I sit on the couch to watch, because of the angle, the picture is much darker than if I was watching the tv straight on. It appears that there's extra framing in the wall to support the mount, but that framing is not long enough for me to drop the mount enough to make tv more viewable. Has anyone done any adaptations to the factory mount, moved the mount, to make it more viewable from the couch? Am toying with bolting an aluminum plate to the tv and then bolting the plate to the mount to drop it down.... Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You could replace the mount with a tilt mount or a fully adjustable arm mount.

I picked up a tilt mount that bolted right on the factory mount that allows me to tilt the screen downward. Works great and not very expensive.
