I'm considering the Command Electronics LED tail light swap. I noticed in a recent thread several have had good comments on this modification.

Apparently the K-0026 Upgrade kit will work with the existing Cruiser tail light assemblies. Any reason to order a new whole tail light assembly? The tabs on my bases are in fair condition and I doubt that the new ones would be much better. Are they any different that the stock bases?

Theres got to be a better way to hold these lenses in place using stainless steel screws!

I did the K-0026 upgrade. The install was easy and quick. The new assembly fits where the old assembly was. If the rest of the light assembly is in good condition you should have no problem. The LED's aremuch easier to see and reduces the electical load on the TV.

+1 on the K-0026 install as well. Do not use the snap locks that come with the kit, get some good connectors and heat shrink tape them so that they are mostly waterproof. Night and day difference on the visibility, especially during the day.

Thanks for the replys. My trailer is only a little over a year old so the tail light assembly is just about as good as new. Think I'll give the conversion kit a try.

I plan on soldering wires and using heat shrink tubing.

Again, I'm still working on a way to hold the lens on without relying on the little plastic tabs. Over the years I've broken a ton of those things as the tail lights get older. It wouldn't cost them 15 cents more to make an assembly that used screws. Guess they get to sell a lot of replacements that way!

Get the kit. All you use from your existing light is the base. You get a new LED bulb assembly and red lens that shows the LED's better.

My trailer is 3 months old and did the conversion WOW BRIGHT.Make sure you get the new lens that don't have the diffuser (new are smooth). I only wish I could watch the trailer go down the road.

Its an easy and sensible upgrade. A small bead of silicone around the top and sides of the lens not only seals out water , but also help adhear them to the base...

Today I installed the Command Electronics K-0026 tail light kit. The conversion was fast and easy. The newer electrical connectors furnished with the kit are a snap to use and hold the wires firmly in place. As was stated above..THE LIGHTS ARE VERY BRIGHT!

the K-0026 Upgrade kit is cool!

but for my trailer, i got a 2-piece blue dots tail light. Featured with chrome plated bezel with 4 retaining tabs for positive attachment, and it has a unique purple glow.

I also used the upgrade conversion kit and it REALLY makes a difference in visibility. I used solder and shrink wrap to be safe,

I replaced the whole assembly, our 2007, lenses werevery loose on the tabs, and the lenses leaked enough to rust up the bulb bases in no time. The new bases have a small eyebrow at the top and the lense fits snug under it, also easier to seal just the top edge if needed best improvement I ever made

Thinking about doing the upgrade on the tail lights on my CF30ES. Does the LED replacement bulbs act as both tail light and stop-turn signal?

Thanks

I installed the LED's a couple of years ago. I was not happy with the stock tail lights. Standing right behind the camper you could hardly see if they were lit or not. You can see the LED's even on the brightest summer day.
