We just purchased a 2012 5th wheel Sahara and unfortunately for us, we did not check the matress when purchased. What a piece of junk.
I went directly to the manufactor and amazingly enough, they are sending us a new memory foam top matress.......does anyone know if that is a better one ??

Paul,
I got the 8" memory foam in my CR unit and the DW and I love it. It is a very good mattress and you should like it. JMHO.

Our Sahara came with a pillowtop which was better than the mattresses in other RV's we have owned but I still added a 4" memoryfoam pad from Overstock.com and we are much more comfortable.

We bought a Sam's club Sealy Gel Foam mattress. It sleeps better than our house bed.
We did not have high expectations on the factory mattress.

We bought a Sealy Posturpedic Pillow Top and replaced ours the day we bought the trailer. Tight fit, but it sleeps great. Although we can no longer rotate the fireplace for mood lighting in the master bedroom as the new matress is much taller and blocks the rotation.

we upgraded to a all foam temper pedic(sp?). it normally sells for $1400 we found one with a blem and paid $401. i took the outer pillow case off and used a straight edge and razor knife to cut the length to fit our "short queen" bed platform. i've been thinking about doing the same for the kids bunks. they are getting a little older and bigger and they can use a better quality mattress.

Ever heard of European Box Springs? Had the factory mattress and had the foam pad thing, and probably whatever else is out there at one time or 'nother. Got European Box Spring and usually sleep through the night, and is UNUSUAL for me to sleep through the night on ANYTHING, except the cold, hard ground!!

Like others, we purchased a 2" memory foam pad from Costco and it solved the problem of the hard mattress. We spent less than $100 and the problem went away.
If you go with memory foam, make sure you unpack it and let it expand for 24 hours prior to using it.

Looking at the brochure for the Sahara-the Memory foam mattress was supposed to be standard. Guess I will peel our sheets back and look at the mattress.

Funny. I was thinking the same thing when I saw your post. Long time, no "see".

We bought the mattress from Camping World. Came rolled up in a box. Was fun watching it expand. World of difference in comfort from that "thing"the trailer came with.

Our Sahara does have the memory foam mattress but... it isn't like out Temperpedic at home that's for sure. We still put a memory foam pad on top so we could sleep on it. The only good thing about the mattress is that is a full queen.

Same thing happen to us. We were shold that this memory form mattress was the best thing on earth (we would of should of whiched our old matteress). First trip out the matteress has two depressions from where the two of us slept. The only memory is matteress had was no memory at all. Crossroads puts a piece of junk in their RV's. Please do not buy a Crossroad with the memory foam matteress. Also, Crossroads will not make good on it.

We bought a 2010 Seville 35RL new in 2009. We used the trailer for about two months then threw out the cheap mattress and bought a new one. What a difference!!!
