Maxx Air II vent cover install?

I just purchased two of these to cover the stock vents in my 270BH. There are two different installs-one for "standard" roof vents and the other for "High powered RV fan ventilators" like "MaxxFan Standard Fans, Fantastic Fans, and ShurFlo Fans".

My stock vents have a fan, but I'm not sure if it requires the "high powered" install or what kind they are. Can someone who has done his before clarify for me?

If you don't have a Fantastic Fan, Maxxfan or ShurFlo fan then all you need is the cover for the "standard" roof vents.

X2 gball is correct. It's a really great mod, being able to leave the vents open all the time certainly helps keep the trailer fresh. Install is very easy as well about 15 minutes a vent if you take your time.

Thanks, so if the vent fan is not labeled as such I can drill away? It is unclear to me what should be different with one of those fans vs. the one I have installed. Wiring, sensors, fan size?

Would there be any issue if I decide to upgrade the fan later?

Drilling ?!?!
None of the ones I installed called for drilling, well, I guess you could call sheet metal screws into the sides drilling

But yes, all of the above, there might be moisture sensors, fan motor and cover wiring, etc...

If your vent covers are hand cranked and the not powered up and down,
you are probably safe.... but still caulk where you screw it in!

If it is a basic Maxx Air that goes on a vent with no fan or one with the little 4" bath fan ,you are good. Youj need to drill 4 small holes in the metal frame of the vent to attach angle brackets, no caulk required.
If the vent is a fantastic fan or equivilant ,then different cover is needed.
The dealer or who ever sold it to you should be able to tell you ....hopefully.

Great easy mod. I did the same thing on my 270BH. But I had to a hail storm cracked both vents and I wanted greater protection. Glad I did it.

I am having them installed on mine. The fan lids are really thin. A pine cone or piece of hail from a storm and they are toast. Plus you can leave your vent lids open for ventilation without fear of rain.

Got them installed, not too difficult. First time up on the "non walkable" roof and getting the angle on the screws was a little tricky under the open vent. Because of the curvature of the roof at the front of the trailer, the back edge of the front lid just rests on the rubber roof. I might go back up to bend the brackets up a bit to avoid possible rubbing on the roof causing a tear.

I nearly have the full range of the vent lid, maybe 90%, so I have good airflow. Opted for the smoke instead of black and I think it was the right choice. Pic is at Tickfaw State Park near Springfield La. this morning. Had to put the shorts on!

Good deal. We have CW vent covers on every vent.

Nice looking rig, too!

I Installed 3 on mine they are easy just make sure you can open the vent up before you make final install. I put the ones that Campers World offers they work nice so far. I had them done in less than a hour. They also made it nice with over 2 feet of snow on the roof it took the pressure off the standard plastic vent covers. I agree it will make it nice to leave them open. All ready for the camping season now.

Just installed mine today.
Hardest part was getting up and moving around on the "non-walkable" roof.

Picked up a Werner MT-22 from Home Depot. Been wanting one like that for a while, but used this install to convince myself to buying it.
