Moving Stab jacks

I really don't like the wiggle in our trailers when camping. We have a new SS291RK Sunset trail and I am thinking of moving the stab jacks from the trailer frame to the tongue and bumper frames. That will get them closer to the ends and 5 or 6 inches closer to the ground. Then I won't need blocks so much and I'm hoping they will have less movement when they are not extended so far. I see most of the trailers in my storage area have them mounted on the lower frame. So has anyone done this and did it make much of a differences?

I have those too but still feel some wiggle. I am kind of picky about it.[emoji3]

I do think that would help but I don't want to spend the money on it yet and I don't want to add more step to my set up. It may come to that at some point but for now I think I'll try moving the jacks. Then keep them down tight and use the Xchocks and see if I can live with it that way.

Check these posts for some ideas. I use the cargo bars from Harbor Freight, solid as a rock.

If you go with x chocks, you will need two. I have them and it didn't stop the movement on our trailer.
The stabilizers did the trick tho.

I added the stabilizers on all four corners, used the x-chocks, and it still bounced (33BD is a loooong trailer). Last trip, I pulled an old pair of scissor jacks out of storage and temporarily put them in front of the wheels. BIG difference. I will mount them permanently next time out (didn't have any hardware last time). Ours was so bad that the dog would jump off the loveseat and the motion would wake me up. Now if I could just get the black tank to vent better - guessing I'm going to have to drop the tank to fix that...

I bought a pair of stabilizer jacks from Amazon and mounted them in front of the wheels on our SST 250RB and it did help quite a bit.

Did you mount them in the same direction as the others?, or turn them 90' to the others?

the scissor jacks are mounted at a right angle to the frame.

On a trailer you can minimize bounce using many of the recommended methods above, however for longer trailers the posts about using jacks near to the wheels really comes closest to completely removing bounce. With the suspension and the play in the tire sidewalls there is still some wiggle room for bounce when just using methods that focus primarily on/near the 4 corners. It is small, depending on the overall length of the trailer and the weights moving around, but for those sensitive to it, it's still there.
By jacking close to the wheels you pretty much take that out of the mix too.

Might be a bit late for a reply, but this is what we use and it takes care of nearly all the bounce and wiggle. We use the stabilizer jacks as well.

I got the same ones on sale for $30 a piece. I put one under the front frame and one under the rear bumper. They made a big difference.
