Hooked up the outdoor kitchen stove top and found the design strange. It seems like they do not want you to leave the hose attached to the stove. When you slide the kitchen in, you must remove the hose or it wont slide all the way in.
I get not leaving it connected to the fill line underneath, maybe they are afraid you'll get gas in the camper. But why not leave it attached so I dont have to fight with it just to use the kitchen.
Looks like I can 'adjust' the angle of the pipe and make it work, or maybe a 90degree turn?
Burgy, it sounds like they updated the stove top with one so big the hose connection wouldn't fit. Your logic about disconnecting only at the feed is sound. Good luck adapting an elbow, which would be less likely to cause regret than "adjusting" the pipe. (But we've all made those "adjustments" one time or another, haven't we?)
I just leave mine hooked up with the stove drawer out when at the campsite. Not a big deal to disconnect if I need to shut everything up with the gas hose quick release.

I'd be ok with it if the connection wasnt a PIA to get to. Why not place it towards the front, where you can easily reach it?
I'll look into a slight adjustment this weekend.
Finally got a chance to look at this. I WAS able to make a slight adjustment to the line, turning it just enough to connect the gas line, and leave it on when the drawer is closed.
NOTE: If you have one of these gas burner tops please check yours for an issue with the copper line that I found on mine. Take the grate cover off by removing the 2 black screws and take note of how the copper line leaves the stove.
On mine they attempted to install a rubber gasket to protect the line from rubbing the metal edge of the stove as it passes through it. This had fallen off and the gas line was in contact with the metal edge.
I had to trim the rubber gasket to fit properly. But now it should be safe even with the slight 'adjustment' i made.
