I cannot say enough about this mod. If you plan to travel you may (will) encounter power challenges. Recently traveled 3 months and had the surge protector respond on 2 occasions. Base your investment on your expected travel habits. I installed the hard wired version with monitor.

We have the portable model and love it. Catches every little hiccup in power. I'd rather it catch every little blip than miss something.
