Rim and tires

I have a 2019 volante vl270bh. I am looking to get new tires. I want to go E rated from D. I am not looking at carrying more load but i like the stronger tire to help prevent blowouts.

What is the stock rim rated for at max PSI? I looked at the back but did not find the stamp to show. Its hidden or not on it.

Any ones knows i would love the info. Thanks!

What does the inflation sticker on the camper say? That is what pressure i would run. And the rims are rated for that pressure.

That PSI will be for the D rated tires that came on it. Thats not always or in most cases the max of the rims but the tire they put on it.

I want to go to a tire that is beefier.

You are correct. And i would run the new tires at the pressure on the decal. That way you will retain the ride that the designers allowed for. If you increase tire pressure the trailer will bounce more due to the tires being harder and not absorbing some of the roughness of the road.

I did not know it was ok to run a tire made for 80 psi at 65psi. I am installing an addon shock system to help with the added transfer shock.

Robkiller; I couldn't find the wheel load rating on my wheels either. I bought 5; new wheels, GY Endurance E rated tires plus steel valve stems (recommended for higher PSI). Once I started changing out the wheels and tires I finally found the load rating on the back of the old wheels, they would of handled handled the E rated tire pressure just fine. You might want to pull a wheel off your rig to get a better look at the back side of the wheel (I should've). I run 80 PSI and as dagst1 mentioned my TT does bounce quite a bit more.

The tires on my truck are rated at 80 psi for max load. The door sticker has the same tires - front 60 psi and rear 72 psi. So you should follow the label on the camper for max inflation. It will not hurt them. In the off season i run them all at 60# because the truck rides a little better. Then air back up for camping season.

I will look when i take the tires off for the shock upgrade. I think i will just plan on running E for the stronger tire at the lower psi unless i find the rims are rated higher. Then i can add a bit more like 70 to make sure they are at a happy place. Thanks everyone!!!

I replaced mine with E rated LT tires. I have always run 65 psi. the other day I was looking them over. I thought they really look like new tires. Then I looked at the DOT. WOW! I put those tires on 8 years ago. I have a new set going on shortly.

Like dagst1, stated---you don't have to run max psi if the load doesn't call for it.

Thanks dagst1 and Lloyd.
I just spent about an hour reading on the Goodyear rv tire site and finally got it through my head to match my TT tire pressure to the axle load. In my case it will be 65psi. Thanks guys!!
