I wouldn't. Put that $2400 in an account and make interest and then draw from it as you may need to repair things. Odds are in your favor that you will have a good chunk left over after those 6 years.

Depends on how handy you are in doing your own repairs and just what might/could go wrong over the time you own the trailer. Plus what you are comfortable doing.
Two or tree years down the road if the fridge goes out it will pretty well take care of the cost of the extended warranty.

I am new to all this and I did the extended warranty it cost 1900 but I got a 300 gift card. I am comfortable on cars but this RV is kinda of scary so I opted for it. I think I made the right choice. If you are comfortable with the price and familiar with what they cover and like it then no prob.

I am pretty handy and fix much on my own, and my dad is a retired RV service tech.

However, I still bought the warranty. We have the ON SITE Camping World/Good Sam warranty. Ours is 7 years and was about $2300. We are seasonal and use our unit EVERY weekend in the summer and if the slide binds or fridge quits (it runs ALL summer), the warranty pays for itself. There are quite a few big-ticket mechanical items, so we felt it was worth the money.

Extended Warranty
left us bitter!

</span>

We purchased a warranty with the 1st RV that we
purchased. Seeing as this was a used RV and we knew nothing of RV’s or RVing an
extended warranty seemed like a good idea. Unfortunately each time we returned
to the dealership with a problem it was always the same reply; “that is as a
pre-existing condition and not covered”. At one point the repair technician
left me under my RV and let me know that if the fresh water tank were leaking
when he returned that then it’s replacement would be covered as road hazard
damage; no matter that the mounting bracket was defective and the tank was
about to fall out. I towed the RV back home and fixed it myself. This RV also ate
tires at an alarming rate but this also got the same reply; “that is as a
pre-existing condition and not covered”.</span></span>

We were very frustrated and we dumped the RV at a loss. We
requested a refund from the dealership on the unused warranty. For months we
waited; we called and received no reply. After 5 months we finally called the
warranty folks direct only to learn that the dealership had received our check
months earlier and never refunded us. We were promptly issued a check directly
from the warranty company. As you can imagine we now have no use for extended
warranty companies or for that particular RV dealership.</span></span>

</span>

Despite this poor
experience we went elsewhere and purchased a new Crossroads Cruiser. </span>We have happily been workamping since. The
problems we had with the new RV surfaced within the first year and were either
repaired by the dealership or we took care of them ourselves. </span>
