Slide seal flipper

For some time one of my slide seals would not flip when the slide was opened. So, I have been manually flipping it or just forgetting about it. Finally decided it was time to fix the problem and bought a 3 ft length of rubber molding, 1 inch wide x 1/4 inch tall. A single 3 inch piece attached to the side wall is enough to start the seal at the top and then the rest of the seal flips as the slide continues to move out. Here is a pic.

I've still got plenty of molding if the other seals become an issue.

Where did you buy the molding? Is it a soft rubber?

Ordered it from BrandSport.com. This is the stuff used as auto body molding, so it is a hard rubber. Same stuff as you can buy at a local auto supply. But I didn't need 20 ft and they only carry black or chrome. This places sells by the foot and stocks colors, even with shipping it was cheaper than a 20 ft roll locally.

Great fixes here..or as they call it now and days...a life hack. As a side note, when I had my trailer serviced at Crossroads, I mentioned the slide seals were stick a bit and they sprayed the sides of the slides with......Lemon Pledge. They said it was the best thing they found to stop the squeeking and slow slides from light sticking. Go figure. So much for special RV sprays from Camco.

I wonder why the frame around the window doesn't do the same thing?

Lloyd, no window on the entertainment slide out and I don't have a problem with the other two slide outs, both have side windows.

Stick on seal flipper

We had a Heartland Wilderness 3150DS and had the same issue with the seals not flipping. I found that Heartland puts flippers on all slideouts now so I ordered 10 feet of it and installed. Perfect solution. Go to a Heartland dealer and order part #31107. It is sold by the foot and has a strong adhesive on the back.
