We just purchased a 2013 Sahara 330SS 5ver. The hideaway bed in the leather sofa is ridiculous. The cushions are so un even there is no way our daughter can sleep on that. Is this normal? or did the company not do something right. Are there any quick fixes?

Thanks for the advice.

Interesting that you would notice that also, my wife finds that the sofa leans forward so what I did was put a piece of 2x4 on each side of the front legs. She said it feels much better.
Cheers,

It doesn't sound like you are opening the sofa into the bed position. I can see absolutely no reason to place a 2/4 under the front legs.

You are so right. The sofa bed is awful. We ordered the hide-a-bed and in the pdi this week-tech told us it was the hide-a-bed. Today we opened it-it is NOT. The configuration is such that you could NEVER sleep on that sofa. Cushions are so uneven! Getting rid of the the recliners ASAP and getting LazyBoys too. After all the problems we had ordering our new Cruiser thru CW of Indianapolis-we are not surprised. Just another thing messed up!!

If you ordered the hide-a-bed. I would make them change it out. We have the hide-a-bed and it is only good for one person. Use it when we bring the grandchildren along.

We took my sister and brother-in-law camping with us to Niagara Falls and used an inflatable queen size air mattress. Placed between the sofa and fire place.

Spoke with CW of Indy this morning. Hide-a-beds are no longer available. They are calling Crossroads-I guess Crossroadsis makeing different cushions that you can use to make all the cushions fit better to sleep on. Dealer said new Cruiser customers are screaming about the sofa and how it is supposed to be a bed! He agreed it was awful!! I have my doubts this will work-but what other choice do we have? Will prob look for small hide a bed when we get new recliners! The included furniture in unit is junk! Sorry crossroads-great unit but bad furniture!!!2013 Cruiser Sahara 300ES.

I also hate the sofa bed (ours does have the bed). It is more comfortable unfolded as a bed than it is to sit on as a sofa. I want to replace ours also. Love the floor plan, hate the sofa.

Quick fix is an air matress, depending on DD age half or full size matress. Our hide a bed is useless. I'm trtying to figure out a way to remove the bed and replace with drawers for storage.

I was told by Crossroads yesterday, that all the 9ft sofas come with the innerspring mattress, which I would assume doesnt involve the pillows of the sofa? do you just take them off?
I am really confused about this. Ours will be the CT28TRKX Cruiser TT. Havent received the unit yet, but getting really anxious about the sofa.

The 300ES has a short sofa. It folds out-the big back fluffy cushion then lie in the middle of the bed. Then there is an empty space at the top. Who knows what is supposed to go there! So when it is folded out-the bottom is the flat sofa cushions, then the big back rest cushions and nothing!! Sounds like yours is completely different! Hope so!

I am going to replace the hide-a-bed mattress with one from www.plushbeds.com, will need to get a custom size for a little extra charge.

The standard mattresses are never quality on any RV i've owned, you either need to upgrade the option or replace them.

I am picking up my '13 sunset trail 25rb in a few weeks and as of last month they heve not been putting in those 40",thin mattress, folding hide a beds and have replaced them with a "tri-fold "hide a bed ....and they are comfortable . made of 6"high density foam . that was one of the reasons I went with the latest '13 model . You can order the unit from crossroads ,I'd imagine .

check out some new sunset trails at various dealers online and some will have a pic of the bed folded out.

hope this helps

We replaced both the original sleeper sofa and the recliners in our 305SKP with La-Z-Boy. The stuff that was in our camper is now in my basement. DW and I are very HAPPY with the La-Z-Boy

Tommy, we are very interested in what you found from La-Z-Boy. We hate the sleeper sofa in our trailer as it is only a foot from the cabinets when folded out BUT the overhang from the counter makes it almost impossible to pass by. If the sofa is folded out, it is a balancing act to get pass to go to the bathroom. And, it is very uncomfortable for sitting and worse for sleeping.

TIA on RV furniture in general.

We bought the La-Z-Boy sleeper sofa: " Diana Supreme Comfort Full Sleeper " Style number 500. It is 5" longer than the one that came with our camper. So be carefull if you have the dinnette.
The recliners we bought are: "Harbor Town Reclina-Way Recliner " Style number 532. Be carefull if you go on the La-Z-Boy web site. There are 3 versions of this same recliner. We bought this style because the frame is steel not wood, and it can be sat closer to the wall when in the recline position.

We love our La-Z-Boy furniture. If you need to know anything else from me send me a PM, glad to answer any questions.

Larry
How are you doing better I hope. You got ill and missed the Mason/Dixon rally right,?? Or do I have you mixed up with someone else.

We recently picked up our new 2013 26 RB and it has the tri fold bed. You do not even use the loose back pillows. Those are set aside. The bed is very comfortable. You don't feel any bars like a normal hide-a-bed.

Thanks for the details, Tommy.

Jean here and I normally do the posting for the two of us. Larry will be having his right hip replaced on the 28th. It is so kind of you to ask about him. We were hoping that we could get a few more trips in after returning from our Summer journey but he is experiencing too much pain. Thankfully, this will be behind us in the new year and we can get on the road again.

Jean
