I feel like I am posting a lot... sorry folks

I took my 16"s and swapped them out for my 16's from my other camper that I bought.

Looks like I increased the ride height about 1 inch too.

I didn't feel comfortable with the tires that were on there.

Never feel sorry about posting a lot. If you don't ask the questions, you don't get any answers.

I'm assuming that you went from a 15" wheel to the 16" wheel so I can understand your concern. We have 15" wheels on our 5vr.The tire load rating is my concern and not so much the wheel size.I haveto get new tires and I've been trying to locate load range E's instead of D's for our 5vr. They are available. Unfortunately I had to buy two new tires and I could only get load range D's.The nexttwo will be load rangeE's.

When the engineers spec out the trailer, they will go to the lowest (cheaper)part spec, like tires, that willmeet their needs. That is why load range D tires are used insteadload range E.

Thanks Hamops

I actually swapped 16's for 16's. The main difference is tire size and ratings. Our Cruiser came with 16's that were E rated but I don't feel comfortable towing them. I will use them as back up wheels. I had bought 16's for my Jayco which did indeed have 15's. The 16' I have are E rated LT tires.

Everything I have read states "Do not use truck tires on a trailer". Read around there is a difference in the construction of truck vs trailer tires.

I have had BFG Commercial LT tires on our trailer for 2 years now and would never go back to ST tires.

I am running a pretty large tire...I will need to watch it to see if its going to rub on the pseudo wheel trim. On the slide side, I have tons of room, on the door side, not so much.... I may get my tin snips out if I see it rubbing.

Running 235/85/16's.

The stock wheels were 235/80/15's. About 1 inch smaller.

Me too!

Would be interested in anyone having trouble with an LT tire on a fifth wheel. Have never seen one post relating to it.

No quality builders of ST tires so looks like the risk of problems would be higher with an ST.

Ditto, I would to see some threads with LT issues. I went to another very large RV forum and didn't see anything, in fact more threads about how the DOT prefers that you use LT tires, and that many RV companies are using LT's more and more.

Cheers
