So Im going to upgrade from the Drawtite brake controller that I bought with my hitch to a Tekonsha.

Question is can I get by with the Prodigy? I ask, because now they have the P2, P3, and I looked them over and figured the plain ole Prodigy would work just fine.

What's all your thoughts?

The prodigy will do the same job as the p-3, just more bells and whistles

on the p-3.

Thanks guys thats what I thought too, the others just have more bells on them.

I asked after the fact. I found a Prodigy on craigslist in my area for $25.00 Now it only includes the unit, the cloth bag and owners manual. No wiring, no mounting bracket.

But $25.00 is a good price for it.

The regular Prodigy is fine... You will need the Ford Wiring Harness from Tekonsha for it. The Factory Ford harness won't work. At least it didn't for my '06 Expedition.
