Valences

Has anyone changed out the vertical valences beside the windows with curtains instead? I hate those vertical valences. They get damaged by the recliners and the dining chairs. And sometimes the cat climbs them.

The horizontal ones at the top are all right, but along the side I would rather have little curtains to cover the stuff along the sides of the windows.

When we first got our Cruiser, I took the ones by the dining table, cut several inches off the top and reinstalled them higher so the chairs wouldn't hit them. Curtains are certainly another solution, but they aren't cat proof either.

We removed all of them from our unit. We were able to order matching material from the manufacturer and my wife made curtains for each window. Just stapled the fabric to the top valance and everything worked great.

Thanks, that looks real nice! After doing the backsplash (which we did yesterday), I think this is my next project! Check out my backsplash pictures on the New Backsplash thread.
