Where is that grey water smell coming from??

Hello friends...For a long time I have been plagued with a grey water smell in my rig. Could not figure it out. Vent? What could be clogging it? It has been capped with a vent cap from the factory. So any way out with the ladder and up on the roof, pried off the cap and with a flashlight peered down the vent pipe. Wow! Found what had effectively shut down my venting. It was a plug of ceiling left over from the hole saw from installing the vent pipe. It was never removed from new! The plug usually stays inside the bit when withdrawn from the hole buy this one did not. Used a 14" intestinal edoscopic biopsy extractor to retrieve it back through the pipe. BAM Fresh air! So anyone plagued with a grey water smell, CHECK YOUR VENTS! Thanks guys

Back in 2013. When we purchased our Rushmore. While dumping black tank. I saw a plug flush threw the clear elbow. Got lucky it didn't get stuck.

Sometimes the saying "Made in America" leads to cause for worry.

So sad then that the problem continues. Also continues with the plastic slugs not being retrieved from black/grey tanks from cutting the drain and or vent pipe.

Don
This is what happens when there is a time limit on your job...If a worker holds up the line when they realize something like that happened they are reprimanded, after that they learn just to let it go for someone else to deal with the problem it causes...

They are not holding up the line, they are paid piece work rate, so if they can do 8 hour count in 5 they go home or on overtime. That is why trailers are so shoddily built.
