Be sure to check your LP lines!

Just a friendly Tip for anyone UN-Winterizing your Rigs this spring ...

Please be sure to check your wiring AND your LP hoses before leaving for your first trip. On our first trip out we ended up having no propane... turns out some little woodland varmint decided my LP hose looked like a tasty meal and chowed down. Thankfully there was a Lowes in the vacinity of the campground and I managed to find a LP hose for a BBQ Grill and and compression adapter to go from 3/8 to 1/2 inch.

Squirrels love to eat propane lines. Found out the hard way.

Ah, that picture looks familiar, although ours was chewed just enough to create a slow leak when I opened the tanks. I chalked up the damage on ours to chipmunks but it could just have easily been squirrels.

When I discovered our leak we were at a campground about 25-30 miles from any sizeable town. Luckily there was an old-time auto repair shop at the crossroads about 7 miles away and they were able to put a barbed union in the hose so it would last through the weekend.

I switched to braided stainless steel hoses after that!
