HT-400FL Water Heater Bypass

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to assist my Grandpa with winterizing his trailer. We're a little confused on which valves to turn which way to bypass (or if there is even a bypass installed) the water heater to run antifreeze. There is three valves. I've attached some photos. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Kyle

T-400FL Water Heater Bypass

First question What year is your trailer and also where is the water pump in this trailer It also looks like some thing has been added to this system . There is an inlet and an outlet to your HWT. You have to shut off the inlet valve and the outlet valve. some trailers don't have an outlet valve , they just have a one way check valve. Than open the bypass valve which will now just let water to go by the HWT. This a picture on a basic tank and it is the winter position. And now you can suck up antifreeze with your water pump as long as you have a hose and setup on your trailer as some don't come with it. Good Luck

Something I did after purchasing a trailer after the first winterizing is wrote the direction of the valves on the HWH with a jiffy marker for reference every year. Like most people I'm sure and first time owners there is a lot to learn and remember when it comes to maintenance and winterizing, so I jiffy mark lots of little notes for quick reference in not so visible a spot. Also after winterizing the water I switch it back to summer mode so it's ready to go come spring...
