Snow on RV Roof

how much snow is ok on a walk on roof before I should worry? we have about 4" on the roof of our TT right now. Should I be worried about the weight causing damage? or is it riskier trying to clear it? temps are up to the forties today so I expect a slow melt over the next few days. Being in the south 2" is usually the most we see so I'm just not certain when to be concerned. Thanks.

Based on my Colorado mountain experience you won't have a problem. Have had freakish September storms that put 12" or more on there which slowly melted. Sounds like you'll have some melt today. My mind works like this: if I have a walk-on roof and I weigh 160 lbs. I'm putting about that much weight per square foot wherever I stand. That equivalent weight would be a heck of a lot of snow. Just sayin...

I would think you would be OK. I see a few rigs around my part of the country and they haven't been cleaned off all year.
I think some have around two feet of compacted snow on the roof.
Unrelated to your situation, I have been scraping snow off the roofs here lately. Two + feet. I had to place a jack post under three ceiling joist in the shed. I had one that started to crack.

Just leave it with a tilt to make the snow and water slide easier from the roof.

Good question and .... answers as well, I reckon. Am in N.E. PA due to circumstances beyond our control. Started seeing darker lines across the ceiling inside, and on the upper sides, inside, After snow sat on roof for a few days, told DW I don't think it is from moisture, it hasn't shown a spreading pattern.... Have all snow removed at present, from toppers too. Was not easy with one arm in cast, but one must do what one must do. Fridge was steadily warming too, coolant mixture gelled, turned off for a few days, covering vents outside with towels and now working great.....
