I have winterized this RV three times by bypassing heater with it drained, using the fresh water pump and a couple gallons of RV antifreeze. I open low point drains till purple shows, flush toilet and open cold water faucets then hot water faucets. I get antifreeze through the cold sides but not the hot sides. Look under sinks and hot side lines are purple like cold sides, is this normal?

You should get antifreeze out of the hot water faucets. Check the bypass valve on the water heater and make sure the check valve on the hot water side of the water heater is not letting antifreeze flow into hot water heater.

I thought rv anti-freeze was pink. What kind is purple? I als think you should check and make sure your bypass is right.

I wonder if his problem is that he has the low point drains open??? He should not have them open until he is completely done winterizing.

Hmmm...purple? As mentioned, I would check to make your bypass and your lowpoint drain. Is the pump sucking the stuff out of the jug when you try purge the hot water line?

I appreciate the responses and am sorry about calling antifreeze purple , it was pink. I went back and went through what I was doing and found my mistake, I was closing the bypass between the inlet and outlet at the water heater and when I would dewinterize I would open this valve.
