Will the water heater drain sufficiently by just turning the pit cock and lifting pressure release lever? Also I have two valves on back of water heater, an upper and lower. Do I need to turn both for bypassing WH to keep anti-freeze out of WH? I have a 5th Wheel Cruiser 27RL, 2004. Bought it used and 1st winterizing. Thank you.

You can also open the low point drain for the hot water line while you have the pressure release valve open to drain the WH. And yes you should turn both valves for winterizing, one closes the line to the WH inlet and the other opens the bypass line.

I drain my tank by taking out the plastic drain plug. I don't mess with the PRV.

You are best to drain by removing plastic drain plug. It is also suggested to leave plug out for winter and reinstall in spring.
