Hi, my husband and I are looking at the 2012/2013 Cruiser travel trailers. They have the newer, windswept propane covers.

The problem is that we measured the only Cruiser TT at the dealer today, and the welded-on propane frame sits right where the Reese and the Equalizer hitches would attach to the trailer frame. We could put the Equalizer L-bracket and link plate just behind the propane frame, but that would place the components just too far (1.0 inch)from their recommended specifications. It specifically states NOT to exceed 32 inches from the middle of the hitch to the middle of the bracket (i.e. 33 inches No Good.)

The Reese length falls right in the middle of the propane bracket.

What is everyone else using for a weight distribution hitch system on these trailers?

I have a Reese hitch and I think it is 28" from the center of the ball. Did have to cut the battery holder (notched out) a bit to make it work but still lots of strength left for the battery. The dealer did it, however I directed since it was "my call" on what to do.

We have an EZLift roundbar for our Zinger. I bet this is a common problem...our WD mounts clear everything welded - but the propane cover gets in the way.

I too have a cruiser with the front cover for the propane tanks. You do not have to go to 32 inches, that is recommended but you can go shorter. My dealer put my Equal-I-Zer on and the L-Brackets are just inside the cover, and last week I actually moved them up one notch with no problem. You should not have any problem with the Equal-I-Zer and I highly recommend it.
