30SK Privacy door mod

2011 30SKP --We would like to add a door/curtain at the base of the steps going to the bathroom/bedroom area. I have really studied this, but the only solution that I can see is a pleated slide curtain at the base of the steps. I would much prefer a door. Thought about reversing the bathroom door, but that would make the door open into the bedroom privacy curtain if it was being used. Without removing the stairs handrail, I see no way to add an actual door.
Has anyone done a mod that will add more privacy for the bedroom/bathroom area but let guests access the bathroom easily? Pictures would be great!
Thanks, Mark

YOu could add a door at the top of the steps, it look like you would have enough room between the step and the linen closet. Or, you can look at adding a bi-fold door.

I think you're right, if I take the handrail down from the steps, I could install an actual door there

Curious I have the same floor plan and model year. We do not have a handrail. We have the flat floor in the bedroom. That raised the height from 11'6 to 12'6 . Is the handrail factory or a mod? Thanks.

I've got the flush floor as well, and like yours mine is not 11'6" as I was expecting (to fit in my garage) it is 12'6" surprise. But anyway, the handrail appears to be factory but I don't know...it was a used unit. The handrail is convenient, but not necessary for us, so I plan on removing it so I can add a door or pleated curtain.

I also have the same floorplan in my 305 SKP...I had to move the privacy curtain for the bedroom, a few inches, so I could place a cabinet in the hall way across from the bathroom...I am curious as to why you want to place a door either at the top or the bottom of the stairs...Do you plan to take out the privacy curtain for the bedroom.???

Tommy our unit came with a hall cabinet. I think it was changed in 2012. Two shelves and a 3hook coat rack. One of the vent pipes is also in there. Did you make your own?

Well, if your getting dressed in the bedroom, and you have company staying in the living room, you can't walk out of the bedroom to the bathroom naked, which we tend to do...so...we thought it would be good to be able to separate the living room from the bath and bed...

Al
My 2007 -- 30SK had a build in cabinet in the hall, but my 2013 -- 305SKP did not have anything in the hall...DW bought a Amish oak cabinet which I modified to the same dimensions as the cabinet we had in our 2007 5er...She uses it for our towels and linens...

It's kinda funny, right after we got the cruiser, I told Laurie that a door or curtain not being at the stairs would be a problem...she said "nah, won't be a problem there's plenty of room to get ready in the bedroom", directly after the first time she got ready to go out, she came into the living room and said "you were right about the door, when can you get that installed!?"...I hate being right!
