Does anyone know of a way to drop the front of the power awning to scrub and clean the top of the awning??? I have the '13 Patriot 335ss.

Don't know about dropping it Mark. Some folks spray it with awning cleaner (both Sides) then roll it back up and let the cleaner sit for a while. Then a long handle brush and ladder. It worked well but my awning was not very dirty. Maybe others will have your answer.

I have found the easiest way is to get a ladder and roll the slide out about 18 inches at a time. You can scrub it down top and bottom then roll it out about that much more until finished, and yess it is a lot of ladder time. You could also do it in reverse if you wanted the cleaning solution to sit on it for a little while. Open then rinse. It works for me.

Thanks for the replies, but Tommy, I'm getting too old to be climbing ladders. At least that what Susan told me.

It all started with one of our neighbors falling off his ladder. He laid there for about 45 until someone found him, and he tore his quad muscle.
I've been on ladders all my life and will use it to clean the awing and eventually the roof( as long as Susan is not around)

Go to your local Wally World and buy the economy size bottle of Tilex Mold and Mildew Remover. Swing over to the garden section and buy the 1 gal pump up sprayer. Total outlay abt $15.

Pout the Tilex in the sprayer and add water to the 1 gal mark. Shake well. Run out the awning and spray down the bottom side real well, no prewetting or wash. Once completely wet roll up the awning and spray the exposed edge that didn't get wet from the roll up. Wait 15-20 min, unroll the awning and rise off with the water hose. If needed a second application on the hard black streaks, roll up, and give it another 15-20 minutes, unroll and rinse. Allow to dry before rolling up.

No scrub, no ladder, no strain, just a sparkling white awning. It amazed me the first time I did it, especially going thru the professional awning cleaner, scrub routine, and not real happy with the results.

Try it.
