Bedroom Dresser Countertop Moulding

We have a 2013 Cruiser Patriot CF335 and the moulding around the bedroom dresser countertop has unattached in various areas so you can see the pressboard back behind and the channel that it apparently is suppose to be in. Can anyone tell me how I should reconnect this moulding without talking the whole countertop off? If I glue it, it would need to be clamped and not sure what I would clamp down since it is on the edge. Thanks in advance for all suggestions/ideas!

Can you glue then put something heavy against it to hold it in place until it dries? Picture would help us see.

I had some window trim loose, I used the 3M Command strips to secure it back, been a year & still in place. We use those to attach pictures to the walls & items on shelves, haven't lost anything yet, my theory is if 1 will hold it 3 will do better.

It is called 'T' molding and the center leg should have ribs on it. This stuff is designed to press fit into a specific groove in the wood top w/o any adhesive. The ribs are slanted to keep the molding from pulling out (normally). Either the groove or the ribs are damaged, or the molding is too long and expands in length in warm weather and pushes out at the weakest point along the groove.

Anyway, you should be able to pull the molding out starting at one end and working back to the problem area. Then you can identify the actual issue. Most wood glues will not stick to the rubber molding, but silicone caulk or better yet construction adhesive will stick to both the molding and the wood. Lowes sells an instant grab adhesive, goes on white but dries clear. A very small amount of that down in the groove, then re-install the molding should work fine.
