The sliding closet door latch, which is plastic, is broken & will not hold the door closed. I've seen something on this forum about replacing them with something more durable, but I don't remember what. Any suggestions?
Thanks

You can get replacement latches at CW or any RV supply. I have to replace both of mine over the years.

Yep broke my first one after about a week. Got more and keep one in stock now. It's a matter of remembering how it works and I keep forgetting and breaking them. Slow learner I guess.

I make replacement latches that are magnetic, fold flat when not in use and will never fail. I usually make up about a dozen sets at a time. I don't have any left over right now and not sure when I will be making more.

Here is a link to another alternative.

Broom handles or doweling cut to length and laid in track never fail when when travelling.

Broom handles sounds kind of tacky, I'll try replacement latches.
Thanks for the replies.

Regardless of how they look they work.Much better than replacing a mirror door.

The doweling is only used for travel and will prevent damage to the door if you forget to close a door or a clip breaks,by all means get new clips but don'y trust them 100%.

We have these type on our closet doors - came from factory that way and work very well. Obviously attached vertically at floor level.

Obviously wouldn't work on a mirrored door but works great for wooden doors.Edited by: WildWildWest
