Our converter fan does not come on. The lights began to get dim. Found battery was not charging. Any ideas?

Check the converter first to see if it's in fact working. It's a simple check with a volt/amp meter. Go from there. Obviously if the converter is bad, the the battery won't take a charge.

Earlier this year I had bumped one of the battery poles with the wrong wire. Blew both 40 amp fuses in the inverter. Replaced the fuses and all is well again.

Check the circuit breaker for the inverter. Mine is labeled "Front"...

I had the same problem with the 40A fuses. Shorted the battery once when connecting, and blew both 40A. Now I always have some on hand just in case...

THe converter was bad. The AC worked but not the DC. We called a mobile rv repair guy the office manager suggested and he tested it and said it was bad. Checked with his supplier and they had it so had him replace it. We don't have a dealer in town, they are 40 miles away. When they work on our trailer it comes back with more problems than when we took it over and it stays there weeks before the work is done. We stopped going to them and went to a small rv repair and supply shop but they closed in May. We may have paid a little too much but he was fast and knowleable. Well worth it. Thanks all for your help. GBSELL
