cruiser 335 furnace wont stay on.

The furnace in our 2012 cruiser 335 wont stay on.
I can turn the power off at the thermostat, turn it back on and the furnace will be on for about 10 minutes blowing warm air then shut off.
I ran the temp up on the thermostat but still no start.
Any ideas. especially on how to remove it so it can be checked.
Thanks

The issue is most likely at the furnance. The thermostat can be taken right out of the equation by jumpering at the furnance control board. My guess but usually the issue is the main gas valve burner flame will not fire and keep the pilot going or satisfy the thermocouple.

Check out our document section for help. Look under "Systems" - RV Furnace Troubleshooting

Mine is doing the same thing. Brrrrrrrrr! Miserable overnight because I have nothing that I trust to leave on over night. Thanks for the burner flame idea.

That is accessed from outside, right?

great info on the furnace

My main problem is removing the furnace for repair. there is no outside access
I can pull the panel in the crawl space and see it but the hot water heater seems to be jammed on top of it.
any suggestions short of a chainsaw would be appreciated.

On our rig the furnace would have to come out from the inside. I have to take the air intake louvered panel off and the furnace is directly behind it.
Does your unit have a similar air intake panel on the inside?

James,

I removed ours 3 times before I finally replaced the circuit board which solved our problem. It's not easy because you have to make some modifications (cutting out some openings larger) in order to remove the furnace. It does slide out under the hot water heater after removing a couple of screws but its not easy.
But, here in Denver where the labor rate for repairs is $150 an hour I'm glad I spent the hours making the modifications to the access wall, moving the inverter/charger and removing a non supporting wall inside the compartment just to make room so it would slide out. They installed the furnace and then built everything else around the water heater and furnace. Of Course .
I can send you some pics. that I took when I started but will have to wait because of another snow storm coming in to night for after the mods pics. when things melt to take some others.

Thanks for the info j ren. It seems I’m going to remove the wall in the crawl space to access it.
It’s going to take time but retired and can work cheaper than $150 an hour.
I appreciate everyone’s help.

I cut the access panel opening out another 12" so the furnace could slide out and you will have to move the converter over to the center more to make a path for the furnace to slide out too. I also had to cut out a section of the none supporting panel next to the converter to make clearance for the furnace. They really weren't planning on anyone removing or replacing the furnace when it was installed.
Good luck, take you time and if you need pictures let me know.

Nice being RETIRED

Forgot one thing. When you get the furnace out call Dinosaur Electronics. They make high quality replacement boards with great customer support. They talked me through checking out the other parts on the furnace to make sure it was the board before sending a new one.

Can you post pictures. Our furnace will not ignite, just the blower starts and quits. It's a terrible design putting the water heater on top of the furnace and then building the framework for the steps to cover the furnace screws. It needs to be modified and your plan sounds good.
