Yep, totally different ideas. One is a rubber suspension, sort of "pre-spring" to take out the small bumps before they get to the big springs, the other is just spacing the axles further apart to redistrubute the load.

So, they are giving up the benefit of a smoother ride to get a reduced pin weight, ummm.
I wonder how that is going to effect the ware and tear on the frame, etc of the unit? Is there an equi-flex replacement for the larger "Secure Stance" mount for the springs?
I'm not sure, if you Google the Passport by Keystone you can see the wide stance axles. Since Keystone and Crossroads are both THOR products I have a feeling they are using the same frame/axles hardware.

OK guys, here's the scoop straight from Crossroads (I went on the factory tour today and had the pleasure of Rudy who took us on a fantastic factory tour), The new "wide stance" will actually handle better than the more closer located axles found on regular Cruisers with the equaflex suspension systems. I have only towed it about 3 miles to the local RV park in Shipshewana, Indiana so I can't personally substantiate but I will report back later on its handling.
