mwebber78,I talked to the head of the service department at RVW & he said it did not happen on there end,There was a rectangle area with kind of white tape & few other spots & a strip maybe a 8-9" long & the tape was white.I really don't no what to think,I already paid for it.And it was a young kid that did the PDI.Feel like taking a ride there right now.

I went out and looked under my unit this morning and snapped a couple pics. I don't have any tape joints but do have 1 service point and one joint that goes cross ways on the 5er. All have metal strips over them with screws holding it in place. The pics are pretty dark but maybe it will be of help. To cold out there to spend much time taking pics. (5 below)

This is the small patch right in back of my step.

As you can see, this one goes across the 5er, behind the spare tire.

That is what ours looks like underneath. And by the way Lloyd, good idea chaining the spare tire in place because the cable systemis not very sturdy.

Someone did a patch job on it I guess at the plant. You are paying the money so you have to be satisfied with it.

I think I would call the factory Monday and try and talk to Randy and send him the pictures and see what he says. I would also be concerned about the big sag in the fabric just past the tape.

Ditto. There's a "technical" term I use for things like this..... "that just ain't right."

My personal opinion is that the CrossRoads I know, would never send out send out a unit like this, but who knows these days? I think CrossRoads and your dealer need to have a serious discussion.

Keep us posted.

See you out there,

Robert

Yes, I would certainly call CR and send some pictures!!
I agree with Keith about the concern on the sag in the under belly. That shouldn't be there.
Campsurveyor, where are you located?

That's not the Crossroads I know. If in fact they did this they should be ashamed, last time I saw a hack job like that it was on a brand new Gulfstream which was help together with self tapping screws and caulking.

I am not pointing fingers here, but someone outside of Crossroads got into that underbelly and made a mess of it. The factory has the underbelly material and could easily move the unit over to the side to be fixed with new fabric if they needed to get in there.

Just as a matter of principle I would have NOT signed the Crossroads PDI form or accepted the unit until that was corrected. In fact, I have NEVER accepted a unit from a dealership until all issues are resolved. My current Crossroads was at the dealership for an extra day while they fixed a poorly routed plumbing line and poorly sealed propane compartment becuase of my inspection.

It looks like the sag is right behind the axle, is that right? There is probably a holding tank right in the immediate area. It looks to me like somebody did a horse s--t patch job either after they were up in there for some reason, or it got a tear in it from something.
A person can speculate and fuss til your blue in the face and never figure it out. I think the best thing is to have CR dig into it for you. THEN, you can settle back with some piece of mind and enjoy your new camper the way you are suppose to.
Good luck, and keep us up to date.

Call Randy M. early, they start at 5AM. The number at Crossroads is 260-593-2866 . Randy does not have an email, he is way to busy to hang around the office and spends a lot of time on the phone and in the shop running around. I can not recall the name but another person does have an email account to send pictures to, I can not recall the name off the top of my head but they will you know.

Good luck.

Don't be to hard on yourself. It's easy to be critical. Everyone has missed a step or two in their life time. If we never made a mistake, we probably wouldn't be doing much. Just step back and take a deep breath and try to relax. First step to recovery is to contact CR. After that I'm sure it will all fall into place.

mwebber said he gets there at 5am
