When I back-up my cf30sk, there is a clanking-like sound that comes from the equa-flex. The sound is not constant, and seems to happens once when I change directions (e.g., from forward to reverse and vice versa).

Has anyone else experienced this?

thanks

We have the equa-flex set up on our 5er and we had some creaking noises from the suspension but I installed the "wet bolts" and that quieted it down. I noticed the noise when we were in a cg moving slowly and negotiating tighter turns. I am not sure if I noticed anything specific when we were changing from forward to reverse. You might check the torque on all the bolts on the suspension in case something is loose. Does it "clank" every time you change directions? Just a thought. Is the sound definitely coming from the suspension or could it be "play" in the hitch? I would think that if you check it and the torque is good on everything and you don't see anything that has any obvious excessive wear it is probably just normal movement of the suspension and nothing to worry about.

Before going to wet-bolts, did you consider the "Never Fail Bushings?"

They are made by Lippert and are "advertised" to be better than wet bolts.

thanks

When we went for our pdi, and my husband was pulling the rig outof the service building, and turning to park it.Myeyes got big when I heard all of the (I call it popping) I turned to the technician and asked "is it supposed to sound like that, is that normal?" He said that is normal for the equa-flex system. Now that we've been camping and paying attention to others, Ihear it from others when they are parking in the campgrounds.

I can't say I have heard much of that since installing the wet bolt system.

Your nylon bushings are gone or your shackel plates bolt holes have gone egg shaped. I would check both.

Have the same noise. Only happens in reverse or when running up the front jacks. Had it checked by an independent RV mechanic and was told it is perfectly normal.
