We just left the Florida Winter Samboree in Palatka and developed a problem. Went to dump my tanks, black water slide pulled out, but it will NOT budge one iota to go back in. Tried pushing hard, tapping with a mallet, nothing. Hasn't budged. Took the panel down where it is mounted and nothing looks kinked. At a loss what to try next. Any idea's to try before taking it into the dealer??

Bob, just had the same problem with my 2012 305 sk. Plus mine was leaking. The repairing dealer said that when the valve was installed at the factory, it was over tightened. This would not let the valve move properly and pinched the rubber gasket letting it leak a little. I would take it to the dealer to make sure that youi dont have the same problem. See black valve post in cruiser section.Edited by: concreteman

We had the same problem (black tank handle) with our 2011 cf325ckp model. The repair tech told me that I had pulled it out of its sleeve. He pulled the handle back and twisted it until he found the right alignment. He then talked me into replacing all three cables to a different brand than the ones that Crossroads used,, because we were also having a Grey tank leaking. For two years we had to put a bucket under the drain cap to catch the fluid before we could connect the hose to it. So they assured us that the change would solve both problems. It did not solve the Grey tank leak. That turned out to be an excess amount of glue when they put the pipes together at the factory, which caused the seal to malfunction. That has now been fixed, and we also had a blade valve installed just before the drain cap, to stop any future leak problems flowing out, at the time of removing the cap.
Good luck on your repair.

2012 305SKP same problem, cable became misalinged in sleeve, rotate handle to get the cable lined back up, should operate ok after that. I pushed, shoved, tapped with hammer could not get it to move, called dealer, tech said turn handle, that worked. Might be yor problem I would try it before taking it in to dealer.

Well I tried to twist the handle but it will not budge at all. Can just the cable be changed?? I am wondering if the cable has seized close to or at the handle, it won't even wiggle / twist / budgeany at all at the handle end.

I believe it will work if you pull back on the handle, and then try to twist it before allowing it to slip back into the sleeve. Worth a try. That is what the tech did to solve my stuck black tank handle.

Did try to pull it back out, but it won't budge trying to pull it back out either, I'm afraid I am going to break the panel if I pull any harder. It won't even wiggle a tiny bit.
Kinda ironic this is what broke on us, I was so happy to have these dump valves in the compartment as the 5er we traded for this one had it's dump valves under the trailer inside the frame rails and you had to get on your knees and reach up under the frame to dump the tanks. lol

Bob, That is exactly the same thing that happenned to me. The handle would not move. The problem was at the valve.

good luck with your valve problems. i own a 2011 cf335ss cruiser and in the last two years
the same grey water valve[bathroom] stuck in the closed position . the only fix was to cut the cable and leave it open until the dealer replaced the valve and cable, which is about 10 ft long [poor design].
also has eveyone out there have a problem with the roof separating ?

thanks

We went and bought a valve that goes on the outlet pipe before the hose so we can close off the blackwater temporarily to get us through this weekend.Wish us luck guys!!

I use one of them end of pipe valves most of the time for some safety. It became a habit as we go where we Blue Tank it a lot too! Since 04 I have had crossroads with the cable operated valves only one problem backI had wasabout 09 one was hard to operate so I disconnected the wire from the valve and pulled it out of the casing. I then cleaned it off and put a small ball of grease in my hand and greased the wirewith it real well. I then used an old fashioned thumb operated oil can with light oil in it and held up the casing as high as I could and shot oil in it till it could take no more. I then reassembled it and from than until we traded it it worked smooth as silk.. JMHO jb
