Thumbs up First Big Trip

Since the purchase of my new Cruiser I have had the construction issues fix and the camper is doing good. Last month I took my first big trip in her (Leah) named after my late wife. She wanted this camper so in her memory I got it for her thank you my darling. So the first trip I found several things different from my previous camper.

1. this thing is a beast to pull even with my 08 F450. Fuel mileage was good from Carencro LA to Hattiesburg MS averaging 12.5-13.3mpg after that it was down and up hills and it dropped to 11.0-12.00mpg.
2. Got to the KOA in Meridian MS and had to go through the park to get to my site I have to get use to how much tail swing this camper has compared to my old camper. almost took out the rear corner with a pine tree. I did better the next day.
3. The king pin weight is way more than the old camper by a good 600lbs.

So in all we went 567 miles in two days. After the first 100 miles or so I wasn't as nervous so it wasn't as bad after that. In all Leah pulled better than my old camper and it was really a good trip.

Sounds like everything went good.

Your mileage in my opinion is good if not great for your rig and that 450 should be more than enough truck.

Enjoy your journeys!

The mileage to me was really good this new camper is 4 foot longer and 1900lbs heavier so I thought it was really good. I have heard stories of a lot worst.

Glad you had a successful trip. My mileage is around 10.5 so I think you did very good.
