With about 3' of the head of the bed jammed into the slide-out, making the bed is not easy.Aside from design changes, anybody have any special tricks?

I slide the mattress down toward the foot, make the bed, then push it forward. This works for me since my hubby is also in the previous group of responders!

With two people doing it, slide the mattress to the dresser and/or on top of the dresser. Put the fitted sheet on the bottom before you slide the mattress, then finish it off and move the mattress back. Finally, put the top sheet and bedspread on.

I do have to open the closet door so I can bend over to get to the head of the bed. For some reason I always get that sidebut like others I slide the mattress down a bit for the fitted bottom and slide it back up to make the rest.

We slide the mattress as far as it will go and make the bed and slide it back up! No sweat!!

Ken, I wish I could give you some good pointers, but we don't have that problem.

I usuallyhave to do it because the wife can't muscle the mattress around . I open the closet door for the extraroom to maneuver. Slide the mattress down and over to get the linens tucked in.Its the only insidejob I always get stuck with. Better than doing the morning dishes, so I don't complain. Other option is as above, leave the bedroom door closed..

I pour a cup of coffee and go outside "to check something." While outside I strike up a conversation with someone I meet or see. When I come back in the bed is made. So I can truthfully tell you I have never seen it done but I'm sure it can be done.

I wonder if Crossroads would ever consider making a 5th wheel without a bedroom slide? I really like the windows right next to my head as we have with the bedroom slide but I wonder if there isn't some design that would work. Anybody know of a 5th wheel that does NOT have a bedroom slide?

You would have to give up a lot to get one. Ours doesn't have the slide.

Even tho we don't have a bedroom slide, we still have pretty much the same issue with making the bed. There is a night stand, and a shirt closet that sticks out on ours. So, like others have stated, the best way is to slide the mattress out, do that end then slide it back in and do the other end.

All of the base cruiser models (non Sahara or Patriot models, flooplans that used to be CTX models) do not have bedroom slides, also none of the Zinger 5th wheels have the bedroom slides. My 5th wheel doesn't have one and I wish it did. That bedroom is awful small with out a slide.

Having a bedroom slide enables you to get a large closet across the front of the 5th wheel plus gives you a nice chest of drawers at the foot. Without the slide I have not seen many 5th wheels with much closet or drawer space. This was a huge factor in my wife's decision to get this particular model with a bedroom slide.
