Insulation / Air Infiltration / Rodent Control<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />

I could not help but notice the extra large holes drilled through the floor decking to allow for easy installation of plumbing and ducts. I would like to stuff these holes with glass insulation to block cold air and pests. Are they designed to be this large for use by the “radiant heated tanks and gate valves system? OR can I proceed with blocking then?

Our CFRE 10 is equipped with:

· Polar-Tek Insulation upgrade.

· Underbelly - fully enclosed, insulated w/ radiant heated tanks and gate valves.

· EZ Winterizer kit

Dave, I have plugged every hole I find. I basically use spay foam sealant. Some of the bigger holes require some other filler/backing, even steel wool, cause the rodents can and will chew through. I have one hole inside under the TV area where all the wiring comes through that I stuffed with steel wool only. I'm thinking of installing an inverter/charger and my thoughts are I will have to run some wires through there. I even plugged every hole I found outside on the frame. I don't think there was any thought given to heat having to go into the under belly from those huge holes some jack#*+, drilled in these units. In fact I don't think there was much thought at all!! The tanks and everything else should get radiant heat from the floor heat run, and actually from the floor it's self.

Same here, when I had the Cruiser they were extra-generous with plumbing and electrical runs. I stuffed the holes with steel-wool then sprayed in low-expansion foam. Some of the big offenders were the plumbing run above the fresh water tank fill, behind the converter where the wiring enters the coach, and the propane run near the furnace. Some of the holes were a bit crazy, 4-5" in diameter for 2 PEX pipes and the fill tube.

Thanks for the information. Steel wool and low-expansion foam it will be.
