Jammed SLIDE

Jammed Slide:
We were loading up the Cruiser when the DW let me know that the port side slide was stuck in the closed position. I immediately sheared the manual over-ride pin and dropped the belly liner on both sides to replace the over-ride pin and look for the jam.
The problem turned out to be that the Stop Can of the Actuator Arm entered the Actuator Hole. It took a pipe wrench to twist the Stop Can out of the hole and free the jam. We took the opportunity to place loom over the belly wiring, reinforce the belly liner edge with Gorilla Tape, and clean / lube the slide rack and pinion.
All is well that ends well!!

Spare Parts: Those little covers for future access to the slide motors were broken away from the frame. They are no more.

While oiling the slide bushings and dry lubing the rack and pinion I noticed some wear on the bottom lining of the slide. It was caused by dirt and gravel stuck in the gasket/seal that gets flung up from the tires. I carefully vacuumed out this mess and treated the gasket and liner with silicon. Someone should create a preventative maintenance routine for these rigs. Of course, it might scare folks away from a purchase.
