Leaf Spring Adjustments to level the Cruiser while towing.

Has anyone adjusted there suspension to achieve a level ride?

Where the axle leaf springs attach to the RV frame there is

an extra set of holes lower than the ones being used now. This is a dual axle

rig so between the axles is the Equa-Flex and at this connection point to the

frame there are no extra holes. Moving the springs to the lower position should

raise the entire unit but will that effect the Equa-Flex as it’s connection cannot

be altered?

When towing the front of the Cruiser is high. Lowering the

Reese Hitch causes the pin box cowling to be pinched during a tight turn (I

cracked it already). I am pretty sure that adjusting the pin box up will give

the same results and the cowling would have to be abandon.

Thank you in advance Kamper Dave

If you have 2" between holes holes you will only get 1" in height. You didn't say how much height you wanted. I used longer spring hangers with a v brace welded inside for suport. I also used 1& 1/2" solid steel blocks and new longer ubolts. 0,000 miles with no problems.

I guess II am stupid but if you have 2 in on center hole spacing why will you only get 1 in in lift.If you move it up two inches you will get two inches wouldn't you ? I guess I do not understand logic.jmho Jb

The Op would be good to raise the whole rig up this way and adjust the hitch up to give him more bed clearance and level..JMHO Jb

I believe the purpose of the extra holes was to allow clearance if you were to go to 16 inch tires. You will only get 1 inch of rise in the trailer. You are only raising one end of the leaf spring. The axle is almost in the center so raising the one end 2 inches will only lower the axle one inch. I did this on mine as I only needed the one inch to make my trailer level when hitched and ready to tow. To help stiffen the spring hanger I machined a 3/4 water pipe to fit snug where the original spring bolt was. Then installed a 1/2 inch bolt and torqued to 75 ft lbs.
