Hi folks,
We're planning to buy this camper this weekend. However I saw something in the pictures that looked like a seam in the fiberglass right under the leading edge of the bed slide. Look at the second pic. I can't quite make it out, but I've seen something like that in old coaches where there is a stress fracture in the fiberglass. However I have not seen this in any Cruiser pictures. Or maybe it's dirt and I'm being paranoid. Given what I understand about Cruiser construction I would not expect frame flex like other brands I've known.
We're 4 hrs away so trying to discern from the pics if it's going to work out. Everything else seems a go, but of course when I get there I'm checking for soft wood and delam first as standard operation procedure, then testing appliances, etc. I will be placing a deposit on it this week before we head up there.
Any more advice appreciated. I've been RV camping for 6+ yrs and have seen a few things but I know there is always more to learn. I've wanted this floorplan ever since it came out.

Thanks!

That seam is a typical crack in the siding. Mine cracked last winter and I repaired with a kit from CR and it looks exactly like mine. Very typical weak spot. If fact, I have seen brand new rigs (different brands) that come from the factory with that same locationand seam. Personally, that repair would not be a show stopper for me.

Our 2010 30skp came from the factory with the kit already installed. Maybe they are just doing it on all units now because of the stress crack potential.

Great feedback, thanks - could you describe what the kit is and if you know what it may cost? I'm going to use that in the negotiations. Thanks!

The kit is simply a 8' piece of "H" molding which you cut (I used about 6" worth) and slide up the crack after you cut it straight and enlarge the cut. CR sent it to me free but actual cost if I paid for it would have been minimal. Don't think there is much to negotiate. Pretty cheap fix.

I'm on my second CF32BL.

First one was 2008 and it developed a fiberglass split in the exact same place. Drivers side under bed slide. Dealer fixed it with the same "H" molding and was fine up untill I traded her in for a new 2011CF32BL. On this new unit, it came from the plant/factory with this molding already in place. Exact same place. SO, as someone else mention, they are apparently installing this some new models from the plant.

GOOD LUCK.

BTW" In reviewing the pictures, she looks in Great shape. Heck I wish I had my old chairs back like these units had in them. The new ones don't seem as comfortable to me.

Great info wenz, thank you. This looks like the one for us, I hope it's as good in person as in the pictures. I can tell a modder owned it (LED taillights, level and 2" hitch on the pinbox) so that may be an indication it was cared for.

Well.... we were all ready to buy it, drove 4 hours away to see it, and when I walked out to see it I knew in less than 30sec that I had to walk away. Big spot of delam on the curbside, just above the baggage door. It appeared to be a glue issue, as I couldn't find any evidence of water.
I pointed this out to the salesman and said that I wanted my deposit back, and he obliged.
Big bummer ... but we drove to another dealer (yet further) and looked at a nice 2008 that looked like it hadn't even been used. I'll start another thread on that one ...
