max fan install

We have an 08 29CK. I am wanting to install a maxy fan in the bedroom vent. Has anyone done this, and if so, where do I obtain the needed 12 volt wire?

In the bedroom, I think you will have to fish a wire from the nearest or most convenient 12v source. I put one in the bathroom and just used the old tiny fan wires. If you open a bedroom window it will still draw air through the bedroom.

If you take down the square cover inside you may find a wire already there. Some are prewired for a second air conditioner. In my last 5er I did install a max fan and the wire was there in the ceiling.

Check the voltage on the existing wire, my last SOB vent had 110 volt prewired, your fan will be 12.

Agree with Papa-T. Also, you might consider calling Crossroads and ask whether your RV was prewired for the second AC. Have your VIN handy so that they can look up the specifics about your RV.

When I pulled my shroud down I did find a wire up there, however it was from the thermostat and not hot. My power for the second AC prep is an actual 120v plug in the ceiling. I used splicers and grabbed power running to the light close to the vent. However, now the light switch has to be on for the wire to be hot. Right now we are turning the wall switch on and the switch on the light itself off when using the fan. It's getting old jumping on the bed, so I just ordered a double switch to replace the single wall switch. I will run new wires and the fan will have it's own switch. Check amazon, I found a fantastic vent on sale there. Was $50 more for the same fan on camping world.
