Hi, We have a 2013 Cruiser Patriot 305SK with the factory optional Recliners in the rear living area. In most rear living model 5th wheels that we have seen the chairs stay in the back when the slides are in for travel or storage. In this model the chairs are about an inch too wide to allow the slide to close without really rubbing on the chair. In order to avoid wearing on the chair arm or damage to the slide, we must put one chair in the rear and move the other to the center of the coach, between the kitchen and living room slides when the slides are closed. This isn't the best solution either because the carpet bunches up when it meets the chair base. Has anyone else noticed this and what are your suggestions or solutions on storing the chairs?

We have the 2011 model, our recliners are microfiber material. They are a snug fit. Are yours the leather option? Are they set completely upright and tucked to the corners?
I don't recommend leaving the chair in the center of the coach as it is not secured for travel. These rigs have a fair amount of "bounce" on the road and that could be a recipe for damage.
Give CR a call.

We have the cloth, not the leather option. The chair tucks in relatively secure between the frig and the sofa, near the rear of the coach when travelling, but you're right, not ideal.

I have to raise the shades and push my chairs against the wall that leaves about a inch for the slides no problems yet.

For anyone looking to replace the stock recliners this mfg has small chairs that fit nicely in the RV. The model I purchased is only 25" wide and the back detaches making it easy to get in the RV. I bought mine at the Tampa RV show. I needed a narrow chair that wouldn't interfere with the slide. They were a bit pricey even with the show special pricing.

Our Patriot CF325MK came with the rockers in the rear living. We are going to purchase these from Shopko in the spring. I have posted a link for you all. Has been the best value price we have run across and they are by far the lightest of all the different recliners that we looked at. They also come in a lighter color as well.

I have the same problem . I turn one chair side ways in the back and put the other in the middle like you. I also dont like the recliners where they are for TV viewing, I noticed this before I purchased the unit. When I get to where Im going, I put the couch where the chairs are and the chairs where the couch was. Then have to move everything back to get the slides in. Seems like some bad planning on cross roads part. Im a little worried like you are that I will tear the carpet when it bunches up.

I have the same problem with my chairs. I have the imatation leather. The chair that is stowed next to the kitchen/entertainment slide fits fine, but the chair that stows next to the couch slide rubs against the slide, no matter how I turn the chair.

Thanks for the suggestions on how to stow the chairs. We are going on our first trip of the season in a few weeks and we"ll trythem out.

We have the leather euro-style recliners in our 325CK. If we turn both chairs sideways, the slides for the entertainment center and dining/couch both slide in with no problem. we stow the footstools on the recliners when traveling. The slides just barely make past the chairs, but they do clear with a couple of inches clearance.

We also have had the problem with the chair adjusting knob hitting the slide on the curb side. We make sure that the feet are turned so that two of them are touching the rear wall, the chair back is upright, and the knob is turned to be as tight as possible. That said, we still watch it closely when we close the slide.
We have been talking about replacing our couch with two more recliners, the ones posted here from Shopko look like a good possibility. Thanks for including that info.

Just tried Nomad's earlier post suggestionof laying one chair on its side between dining and kitchen slides. Seems to work, at least so far in driveway. Looks like it will travel fine also, makingfor more easy access to frigand not bunching up carpetwhen slides come in. Thanks.

Just checked out the 2013 floor plan 305SK, where is the water pump located. It use to be in a floor cabinet between the 2 recliners. I would like to move it. Thanks

Not sure about the 305SK, but sometime in 2011 they moved the water pump from between the chairs to under the stove, at least on the 32MK. Made it much easier for me to swap the chair and sofa locations and then build in a full width sofa across the back of the fiver. Now the sofa is a full 6ft with end tables and the chairs face the TV directly rather than sideways.

Thanks Larry. Under the stove how is the access for winterizing? Your set up is what I would like to do the TV view would be so improved. Not sure the relocation could be done. I will investigate.

On the 2013 305sk the water pump is in the cabinet under the counter to the right of the sink. It is accessed by removingthe left handpanel in the space underneath the counter.

That is interesting, that is how you access the water heater in the 2011 model. Where is the water heater located in you 2013 305SK?

The water heater in our 2013 305SK is located just beneath the kitchen counter, in the corner formed between bathroom wall and left outside wall. The water pump is located below the water heater in the internal space of that corner.

The below counter cabinet on the bathroom wall has an internal plywood or luan panel which is unscrewed and when detached can be tilted to remove from cabinet. Access is thereby gained to water heater cut-off valves and access valve for take-up of RV anti-freeze for winterizing.

There is a lot packed into that corner, but it helps to make the floorplan of the 305SK one of the most open and spacious there is in this size range. Plus have more counter space than the vast majority of RV's in any size range. We are happy campers in a 305SK.

When we first got the RV, I also laid one chair on it's side to get them both to fit with the slides in. I have since, however, just removed one of the recliners from the trailer. This eliminates the hassle of moving chairs around and turning them over, plus, it gives us a little more maneuvering room. It's only the wife and myself (the dog doesn't use a chair ) so one of us uses the sofa and the other the chair. Now and then we switch up.
