Has anyone replaced their fender skirts? About two months ago I had the studs on the rear wheel right side decide they were tired of doing their job and let go. I belive it happend due to over tightening the the wheel nuts. (not by me)

Any way it damaged two of the side skirts when it took off. It looks like they would be easy to replace but I wanted to ask if any one had needed to do this and if all that holds them on are the several screws that are there.

Sorry to hear about your mishap. I havent had to relace a skirt yet and I wish I had my trailer on site. As my memory recalls, I think there are only a few screws and one bolt in between the tires holdingthe skirton. The biggest problem is going to be cutting the silicone off. Unbolt first and then pull the fender away from the side and cut silicone away with a sharp razor knife.

my fender skirt was not damaged to badly so We took it off and straightened it.They are kind of funny as they dont underlap the side panel.however they are only caulked at the top screws remove easily enough. We drilled out the pop rivets where they connect to the side of the slide.I contemplated using buck rivets to resecure however that would have been a problem if we needed to work on it again. We checked the clearance in back and elected to go with stainless steel 1/4" bolts with nylon washers against the aluminum panels. However it would be just as easy to pop rivet them again.

Drove back to the factory and got two new skirts to replace those damaged by the tires exit. it only took about 3 hours to cut and replace both pannels and like was stated they don't upderlap thetop pannel so it was not too bad. Just used caulk along the top and a few screws and pop rivets and we are good to go. As aways the people at the factory and in parts (Mark) were great. The pannels were only 40.00 bucks but the shipping was going to be big bucks as in 200.00 plus for everything so it was cheaper to drive back. It was good to see they are still making units, a lot of moterhome factories are closed but 5th wheel and TT look to be still building.
