any ideas on how to keep the rubber sealsaround the slides from pulling out when opening the slides? We have had our seals replaced on the bedroom slide under warrenty, but do not wish to have to take 2011 cruiser in all the timeif they keep coming out.

matt & rachael, hopefully you will get some additional input, but I for one would tend to believe that the slide is not centered in the opening and therefore putting so much pressure on the seal as it slides that it pulls it out of the mounting flange. Our unit is going on 8 years and we have never had that problem (3 slides). It is important to make sure the slides are aligned and that is definately a warranty issue and should have been checked when the seals were replaced. Good Luck

Sorry I was not clear, and thank you for your reply. the seals I am speaking of are the seal, white in color, around the outside of the slide and when the slide is closed the rubber keep the dirt out. when youopen the slide those sealsstick to the slideas the slide is opening and in our case pulls out of the track it placed in. We were wondering what people did to keep those seals from sticking to the slide and pulling loose.

I think the manufacturer recommends a dry lubricant. Someone posted this link recently about using baby powder on the slide seals. This is what I am trying. We just put the baby powder on last week. i will see how well it worked when I deploy the slide on my next trip in a couple of weeks.

Well the baby powder sounds like it would work, but I would think that a rain would wash it right off and putting anything on the seals is a job. Getting the ladder and the work of trying to get it all the way around. something we do not want to do everytime it rains. does anyone know of a product that would last some time and is easy to apply?

I have used a spray silicone spray on ours with good results. Once every few months seems to do it.

Happy camping

I use W-D40 to clean the black off the seals, then wash them. I don't like to leave the W-D40 set on them. Let them dry, and apply a coat of silicone. Everything slides pretty good.

x2 on cleaning them and putting silicone lube on them. you may also notice that the caulking along the side of the white seals crack-- I think its because it sticks to the slide a little and eventually breaks free as the slide goes out but tears the caulking as a result. The lube seems to be preventing that from happening anymore on my unit.

X3 on cleaning with WD-40, washing, then silicon spray. Seems to work well.

Happy campers, thanks for the tip. I went in my trailer at the outside storage lot the other day and there was a wet area by the bedroom slide, After alot of searching I discovered the cracked sealant on the top of the slide where the rubber seal meets the fiberglass side panel. All fixed now, thought it was aging, may be, but your post has me making another trip to treat the seals.

Thanks Tim
