I have posted here a few times already; however, wanted to introduce myself as a new user to the forum. I am about to pickup my CF29RK trailer from RVWholesalers in about 2 weeks! Way excited. I have pulled TT all the time but this is my first fifth wheel. I thought I would post the below question about the extended Warranty RVwholesalers offers. Any comments??
RVWholesalers offers a 5 year extended warranty plan on the Cruiser. Cost is $2,000. If you do not use the warranty in 5 years then they refund you the $2,000. RVWholesalers try to sale this by indicating that the slide seals are prone to accident in tearing if not careful with sticks or other things that can happen and the slide seal is not covered under the warranty. They say cost of replacing the slide seal is $2500.
Has anyone had experience with their slide seal having an issue in 5 years or like dislike this warranty? I like that you get the money back; however, based on 3% interest and inflation I figure this cost $300-$500 over the five years.
Anyone tried this through RVWholesalers.com that has feedback?

Crossroads give's you a 2 year bumper to bumper and 5 year structual. You don't need any extended warranties. You can install a slide topper for about $400 and then you won't have to worry about a stick in your slide. You can take the $1600 balance and buy toy's for the new camper.....
Extended warranties are as useless as sand paper in a bathroom stall.

I'm with Michael on this one. Get the slide toppers. A lot cheaper than the useless warranty and much more useful!

Ask them if the 5 year warranty goes into effect after the 2 year factory warranty is up or the day you buy the trailer. If it is the day you buy the trailer you aregetting a 3 year warranty for $2k. I would pass.

We got a 7 year for $1200 and we will never use it! We will eventually get the money back but it is a hassel. You would be better off getting one from good sam after the factory one expires. It will cover the appliances and that is where the expense will be.

Ditto what Chris said. Buy a warranty that is honored by most RV centers coast-to-coast. It would be a hassle getting an RV center in, say Wyoming for instance, to comply with a RV warranty from a dealer in Ohio they never heard of!!

They tried to sell me the same thing quoting the slide out seal as an expense not covered under warranty. When I said I'm not interested they started droping the price on the extended warranty.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com ffice ffice" />
I told them I have never heard anyone on any of the RV forums having issues with slideout seals and I just didn't think this was a comon problem.

I thought that might be the case. Thanks everyone for your feedback. I thought the same things but wondered if there was something I was missing.

I was convinced to buy a bumper to bumper 7 year warranty from my dealer when I bought my Cruiser. Supposedly it even covered items such as aftermarket TV's and portable generators (Name Brand Only) that I might buy. The policy wassix pages long. Two days later Iinvoked my right to cancel within 30 days.
There actually was a list of exclusions (29 separate paragraphs) so the bumper to bumper didn't apply. It really only covered all of the appliances. No coverage on walls, floors, ceilings, leaks, delamination, or the frame. The addition of parts after the fact was onlycovered if done by factory authorized dealers so my buying of a TV didn't count. And all service work such as checking the caulking or packing bearings needed to be done at a licensed repair facility according to the frequency suggested in the owners manual; no self-maintenance allowed.
I'll save the $2000, put it in the bank and self-insure with a lot less hassle.
