sink material?

I need to drill a hole in the sink for a water filter spicket. Is the sink material fiberglass or plastic? Has anyone done this before, and if so, what type of drill bit did you use; I think the hole needs to be 7/8". I did this once before on our old RV to a fiberglass sink using a spade bit and it seemed like it took forever.

Use a forstner bit. Cuts a clean edge. Or, a hole saw. Do NOT use the space bit.

X2, space bits might be hard to find! Sorry Mark, I couldn't resist. Use some painters tape on the counter top where you are going to cut the hole. This will help prevent any chipping of the counter top material.

Those space bits cost $5000.
But, you can get a spade bit a little cheaper at Lowes.

I did this on ours and I used a hole saw with no problems. Ours is a plastic sink.

I used a new metal bit; the sink is some type of plastic and it worked well and quickly.
