We have a 2009 Cruiser travel trailer. I find the camper sits up real high. I have been looking for an extension for the steps but I don't find one. Has anyone ever seen that? Also, I find our camper moves a lot. It is a 31 ft with jacks in the back and front, so the camper sits on the jacks, tongue and tires. Any suggestions? This past weekend we used the heater a lot. While it was running(the wind was not blowing) it sounded as if the wind would be trying to blow the flame out (for lack of a better explanation). We smelled no propane and had no other trouble than that noise.....

Check out page two of mods and upgrades topic "TT stablizers" for info on what I used. We have a 2010 Cruiser and also find it quite high and carry a portable step with use. There is an after market four step set of stairs that would replace the three steps that are on the unit. They cost a little over $200.

We had the same type of problem with the water heater on our first camper. Look at the flame when the burner is lit.The flameshould be virtually all blue in color and very steady. My guess is that it will appear orange/red and not burning steadily. This is probably because the burner needs cleaned out. You may have spider webs or other debris in the burner and/or orifice and that is preventing the propane from burning correctly. I had to take mine apart and brush it out to get it clean. On my current 5er I just hit it with the air compressor each spring and it blows any spider webs out and so far no problems. If that is not the problem thenmy guess isit must be something to do with the valve that controls the flow of gas to the burner and I don't have any experience with that but I am sure someone on the forum does.

We have an '08 CF31QB and I found the steps to be to high off the ground as well. Luckily there were 2 more set of holes predrilled lower than where the steps were mounted and I just lowered them to the 2nd set of holes which still allowed enough of a step up into the door of the trailer.

As for the loud burning noise from the hot water tank, well I think that is just the way it is as mine sounds like a jet fighter flaming up for take off. I never noticed this on my old trailer because the hot water tank vent was on the other side of the rv. Now I feel bad for all my previous neighbours that had to listen to that whenever the hot water tank fired up. Typically I don't run it on gas unless I'm without power which isn't very often.

Don't know what I was thinking on the first post. I typed in hot water heater when I actually was referring to the heater itself...LOL...we run our hot water heater on electric as much as possible. So...if you have any suggestions on why the heater is making that noise, pass it on please...and thanks for the other info...
