toilet flush

I have noticed lately that my toilet flush does not always stop after the foot pedal is released. I'm sure I'm going to forget to watch it the time it overflows. Why has this started happening? Any thoughts or east fixes known?

Get some CRC in the green can which is a silicone lube and spray the heck out of the pedal mechanism while operating it. It should stop it if it is doing g it intermittently. I would also install a shutoff valve on the waterline feeding the toilet. So you can turn it off for piece if mind

What kind of toilet?

We replaced our plastic toilet with a taller porcelain one. The new toilet is supposed to run a bit after flushing to put water back in the bowl.

KIT

Debris in the valve seat? Try to exercise that valve and flush it out for one minute.

I'd bet the manufacturer has a kit to rebuild that valve. I am not saying it will be easy.

ALSO install a shut off in the line then if things go badly you have a backup. After a few bad experiences we have a shutoff valve on EVERY valve in the RV.

My neighbor flooded his RV when his toilet valve malfunctioned on a cold morning. He was trying to save LP and with no heat he froze and damaged the valve.

I have not experienced it myself, but I have heard of plenty of cases where the valve has become sticky or cracked. The valve is replaceable, or now is a good time for a toilet upgrade. If you have a plastic one, the ceramic ones are wonderful!
